JMC conducts anti-encroachment drive, demolishes illegal structures | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jan 15: The Enforcement wing of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) conducted an anti-encroachment drive and demolished illegally raised structures in the different areas of the city. The staff of Enforcement wing led by Chief Enforcement Officer, JMC Satish Khajuria along with the police force demolished the interior partition walls raised near Shakuntla Theatre, Jammu which was continuing with the finishing work in violation of the Status-quo Order of the J&K Special Tribunal to put the building in use for commercial purpose. The Jammu Municipal Corporation has implemented the Status-quo Order of J&K Special Tribunal in letter and Spirit. The team also demolished the stair case raised by Kunti Devi at Jogi Gate which was raised by the defaulter by encroaching upon the land of neighbour. The Jammu Municipal Corporation has once again appealed to the general public to refrain from making encroachments and unauthorized constructions otherwise action as admissible under rule leading to demolition will be taken against such defaulters. The drive was carried out under instructions from JMC, Commissioner, SC Sawhney.
