| NC applauds Omar for declaring four Banihal villages backward | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
BANIHAL, Jan 15: National Conference leader Sajjad Shaheen has thanked Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for declaring four villages Takia,Danar,Khairkoot and Kothtal of Tehsil Banihal besides thirty four other villages of the state as socially and educationally backward areas.
He said that about one dozen villages of Tehsil Banihal had not been included in the list of backward areas for last many years which has resulted in serious academic loss to hundreds of youths of these areas. Shaheen appealed Chief Minister Omar Abdullah that the remaining villages Nowgam, Tether, Lamber, Asshar, Darshipora, Chareel, Kaskoot of Tehsil Banihal be also included in the list of backward areas so that the socio-economic condition of the people living in these villages can be improved.
Appreciating Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for his truthful and principle based Politics, Shaheen said that young Chief Minister is not only committed to the equal development of all the regions of the state but is also committed to the permanent political resolution of the Kashmir issue.
