BJP reiterates stand on total integration of J&K with country | Party's 2 day state executive begins, Dr Jitendra Singh appointed chief spokesperson | | ET REPORT Jammu, Jan 15: Reiterating that party stands for total integration of J&K with rest of the country , the BJP today said that Party will tooth and nail fight the forces advocating for self rule, autonomy and Azadi. There will be no compromise on party's stand on J&K and we will continue to fight for the total integration of the state with country. The BJP which met here for its two days State Executive meet made it clear that BJP has stood for total integration of the state with rest of the country and it will not make any compromise on this account. Addressing the State Executive meet the senior Party leader and Prabahri J&K Prof OP Kohli asked the Party cadres to visit the length and breadth of the state and apprise the people of the party's stand in this regard. Kohloi said the country is facing major three issues at present which are corruption , price rise and Kashmir and the BJP has a firm stand on all the three issues. He accused the UPA led coalition of its total failure in containing corruption, price hike and solving the crisis in Kashmir. Quoting BJP Parliamentary Party leader LK Advani, Kohli said the former deputy Prime Minister while addressing national office bearers meet recently said the political situation in the country is at turning point and BJP cadres have to work more harder to identify themselves with the problems of masses and take full advantage of the situation by working amidst the people. He said the political situation in India was at a turning point in 1947 partition, during the emergency in 1974-75 and at present. He urged the party activists to gear up and start activities from today for the 2014 Parliamentary elections. He while stressing on the empowerment and strengthening party activists said this is more important as the activists are main power behind the party. Kohli however regretted that since the formation of Party district working committee one year back it has failed to meet till date. Earlier party state chief, Shamsher Singh Manhas introduced Dr Jitendra Singh to Working committee members who welcomed him. Manhas also named him as the chief spokesperson of the Party in addition to his responsibilities at Central level. He recalled the role of Dr Singh as a prolific writer and the positive and nationalistic stand taken by him in Amarnath land row agitation. Addressing the meeting Manhas accused the Congress, PDP and NC furtring the cause of separatists by opposing the BJYM Ekta yatra to Kashmir which he said will be taken to valley at any cost. He held the weak-kneed policies of Congress responsible for the present crisis in Kashmir and said BJP siticks to total integration of state with rest of the country. He said country is facing many challenges like corruption, price hike and interference from neighbouring countries including Pakistan and China. The China has intruded inside our territory and the Union Government led by Congress is looking like a mute spectator. |
