| Urdu Deptt. to organize “ Urdu Writers Conference” | | |

The Post Graduate Department, University of Jammu (JU), in collaboration with Centre for Professional Studies in Urdu, JU and All India University Urdu Teachers Association, is going to organize “One Day State Urdu Writers Conference” on Nov’11 to commemorate the Urdu Day celebrations, which is coinciding with the death anniversary of First Education Minister of free India and freedom fighter, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. The conference will be presided over by Prof. Zahur-ud-din and Minister of state for Higher Education will be the Chief Guest on the occasion.
Number of activities, including quiz competition, poetic symposium and seminar would be organized in the department in which delegates from various districts of the state will present papers, highlighting the problems being faced by them at their respective places and the overall situation of Urdu language and literature in these areas. After the presentation of these papers, discussion with regard to the issues highlighted by the writers on their papers will ensue and resolutions passed impressing upon the state government and the authorities concerned to take the necessary remedial measures.
