Amritsar Club beat TCC

Jammu Jan 16: Meanwhile, Amritsar Club qualified for title clash outplaying Trikuta Cricket Club (TCC) by 22 runs in the second semi-final played here today. Stadium XI has already reached the final beating the opponent on January 14.
Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, Amritsar Club set a target of 191 runs for the loss of four wickets, which, in reply, the star-studded side of TCC could not attain. In the allotted quota of 20 overs, the side could make only 168 runs losing eight wickets.
Avnish played match winning innings of 91 runs coming off mere 46 deliveries studded with 15 hits to the fence and one over the rope. Aman also played well contributing 61-ball 61 runs, inclusive of four boundaries and two sixes. From TCC, Balbir took two wickets, followed by Shashi and Hardeep Singh, who shared apiece each.
Later, chasing a challenging target of 9.5 per over, TCC could not maintain the required run rate and in the process could score 168 runs with two wickets in hand.
Former state Ranji captain, Dhruv Mahajan played fine innings of 40-ball 79 runs studded with three sixes and eight boundaries. Bandep Singh (26 off 13 balls) and Shashi (23 off 20 ball) were other main contributors. Pankaj was most successful bowler from Amritsar Club with three wickets while Munish and Vinay took two each.
For his brilliant knock of 91 runs, Avnish was given away Rs 2100 cash prize for man of the match by Suraj Chawla. All the three half century makers, Avnish, Aman, Dhruv Mahajan were presented gifts by Raju Silk and Saree Centre.
Today’s semi-final was officiated by Mohan Lal and Ram Lubaya as umpires.
