| BJP working committee meet ends | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU Jan 16: The two-day meeting of BJP State Working Committee concluded here with addresses by State Prabhari Om Prakash Kohli and State President Shamsher Singh Manhas. Addressing the concluding session, Om Prakash Kohli said that the two-day meeting was successful and meaningful as the mood of the party cadres drawn from different parts of the State in the meeting was to accept the challenges. He said during two days meeting spread over different sessions, various issues confronting the state and nation facing in the State were discused. He said the coming days for the party activists would be very busy as they have to work for making the scheduled “Rashtriya Ekta Yatra” successful. He said the tricolor hoisting at Lal Chowk under this yatra has a message. Kohli said as the President and the Constitution are the symbols of nation, the tricolor too is a symbol of national unity. Jammu and Kashmir is a part of the India and this legal and constitutional fact has been endoresd by the Constitution of India. The State Constitution too says that J&K is and shall remain an integeral part of India. Even this fact has been endorsed by the Unanimous Resolution of 1994 passed by both the houses of Parliament. Hence, hoisting tricolor is legitimate and respect of one’s feeling for the national symbol. He further said that four types of voices are being heard in the state. One voice is NC’s Autonomy, second voice is of PDP’s self-rule, third one is of separatists for Azadi. These three give strength to each other and their motive is to weaken state’s relation with India. The fourth voice is of BJP, which stands for unity among the nationalist forces, which says J&K is an integral part of India. ``It is the battle between the voice of nationalism and the separatism. Although it is not a small battle but the victory in the end will be of nationalism’,’ he said. Shamsher Singh Manhas, in his address, said that the State Chief Minister has been making un-neccessary statements every day about the hoisting of national flag thus indirectly making publicity of BJYM’s programme. Due to the statements of CM, the programme of flag hoisting has become a talk of every one in India. He said the CM might think that by speaking against flag hoisting he is doing great but in reality he has publicised this programme. He declared that after January 26 programme, the State unit of BJP will launch yatras from Bani, Poonch and Paddar with a slogan of Chief Minister Gaddi Shodo and the duration of each yatra will be of 15 days. He also declared to launch a massive agitation against the public distribution system as a result of which the consumers in Jammu are discriminated. State General Secretary Sat Sharma (C.A) conducted the proceedings of the meeting and Dy. Leader Party Legislators Jugal Kishore Sharma thanked the participants in the meeting.
