Kavita Ka Chakkar’ staged in sunday theatre | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jan 16: ‘Kavita Kaa Chakkar’ a new play in Hindi was staged here today at Natrang Studio Theatre in its weekly theatre series ‘Sunday Theatre’ under the direction of Neeraj Kant. Natrang Director Balwant Thakur complimented team of performers for the presentation. In the play ‘Kavita Kaa Chakkar’, tragedy of a poet has been depicted in such a comic manner that it prompts spectators to laugh on his tragic fate. It is rarely seen in theatre that a tragedy is woven in a comedy manner and audience lived through with a heavy heart creative frustrations of a poor poet but had to laugh the way he reacted to his environment. ‘Champa Lal’- a businessman by profession is obsessed with the art of poetry writing. Passion for the poetry reaches to such a level that he leaves his business establishment and locks himself in a room to have a suitable environment for the creation of a creative mood. This act surprises his wife who never saw him leaving his business till late hours of night. Deepak Virdhi as ‘Champa Lal’ exhibited his talent as highly accomplished actor. Other actors were also very vivid in putting life in their characters. Those were Niharika Sharma as ‘Chameli’, Sumeet Sambyal as ‘Kalicharan’ and Sunil Bhardwaj as ‘Bhanu Chand Vairagi’. Lights were operated by Rahul Singh, Mohd. Yaseen coordinated the show and the presentation was done by Sumeet Sharma
