A police spokesman said here this afternoon that the police at Srigufwara arrested Ghulam Rasool Khan, the salesman of ''Pahalgam Gas Agency'' when he was selling cylinders at exorbitant rates in the area. Three vehicles, including a truck, loaded with gas cylinders were seized. As many as 327 gas cylinders were recovered from these vehicles in south Kashmir. He said acting on the complaints of black -marketing of cooking gas, the Ganderbal police today arrested four people, including a gas agency employee. The accused were identified as Farooq Ahmad Parray, Abdul Rehman, Ghulam Hassan Khan and Shakeel Ahmad Dar. The arrests were made when the accused were unloading LPG cylinders from a truck and illegally selling those to one Mehraj-ud-din Waza. Police later recovered 76 LPG cylinders from Waza which were being loaded in a vehicle at Wayil Ganderbal. The spokesman said instead of selling the LPG cylinders directly to consumers, a number of gas agency employees have been selling them to unauthorised people in bulk who in turn sell them in black market at exorbitant rates, creating artificial crisis of gas in the district.
