VRS SRTC employees threatens hunger strike against apathy of Govt. | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jan 17: All Jammu SRTC Volunteer Retirement Employees Association (VRS) have given one week time to the Management to solve their issues, otherwise they would launch hunger strike. Former employees today sat on Dharna in front of the SRTC office and alleged that government has befooled them and all of their demands have been ignored. Addressing the protesters, president of association Dev Raj Bali said that adamant attitude of the department for not implement the order no. 85-B-988 regarding release of COLA to the employees of the Jammu region is totally discriminatory. He said the SRTC Management had also not deposited employees CP fund for last 10 years which have been misused by the government. He said that though Jammu and Kashmir Government has said that they have given all the funds to the department, but its surprising that it has not been distributed to the employees. Association has further demanded release of 126 installments of COLA without any condition to VRS and other employees. He also said SRTC management has given to its employees but not given VRS employees and adopted delaying polices. He said that VRS will give one week time to SRTC management for get pending salary, 6th pay commission and cp funds otherwise all the VRS employees in the State will go to Hunger Strike front of the SRTC officer. “If government will not solve our issues, we will be forced to start agitation and administration will be responsible for the same”, said Bali. Those who addressed the gathering include Suriender Singh, Balwinder Singh, Mohd. Sharief, B.V Sharma, Prem Nath, Ashan Elite, DN Sharma, Surjit Singh and other besides.
