| Court frames corruption charges against Patwari | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Jan: 17 :- Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu AK Koul today framed corruption charges against Jawahar Lal then Patwari Halqa Deeli who was caught red-handed by the VOJ on April 21, 2010 while accepting Rs 14000 as bribe money from the complainant.
According to the Vigilance case while accused Jawahar Lal being posted as Patwari Halqa Deeli abusing his official position as a public servant demanded as an illegal gratification of Rs 20,000 from the complainant for preparation record and making an entry in the said record. In furtherance of the demand accused received Rs 6000 from the complainant and rest of the bribe money Rs 14000/- was agreed to be paid by the complainant on April 21, 2010. On said dated Accused received another installment of bribe to the tune of Rs 14000/- from the complainant which was subsequently recovered from the top of Almirah in his office room. The raiding party recovered the money and after hand wash on spot yielded positive result and recovered the money and registered case against accused and after completion of the investigation challan was presented in the Court.
Court after hearing CPO Parshtom Sharma for the VOJ and Advocate Vikram Sharma for the accused framed charges against Patwari Jawhar Lal u/s 5(2) r/w 5(1) (d) of PC Act and section 161 RPC. JNF
