| IAF marshal visiting Jammu on Jan 20 | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Jan 17: Marshal of the Indian Air Force (IAF) Arjan Singh will be visiting Air Force Station Jammu on January 20, 2011.
During the visit, Marshal will be given traditional guard of honour and he will inaugurate newly constructed Air Warriors’ Living-in Accommodation which is named after the Marshal as ‘Arjan Singh Block’. He will also visit various units; interact with personnel of the Air Force station and the school children. Marshal of Indian Air Force Arjan Singh was born on 15 Apr 1919 in Lyalpur in Pakistan.
He has flown over 60 different types of aircraft from Pre-WW-II era biplanes to the transports like the Super Constellation. Marshal of the Indian Air Force Arjan Singh led the Air Force through the War in 1965. After his retirement, he served the nation as Indian ambassador to Switzerland from 1971-74 , as Indian High Commissioner to Kenya from 1974-77 and Lt Governor of Delhi from 1989-90.
