5-day bee-keeping training programme takes off | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jan 17- The five-day beekeeping training programme was inaugurated at Nai Basti (Suchetgarh) R S Pura by Joint Director of Agriculture (Inputs), Jammu, V K Bhakri in which more than 50 farmers/unemployed educated youth/farm women participated. Speaking on the occasion, Bhakri said that this is a golden opportunity for the farmers of Suchetgarh area that such as programme has been organized in their area. He advised the trainees to take keen interest in learning beekeeping and after successful completion of the programme department will provide bee hives, bee colonies and bee equipments to the trainees on subsidized cost. He also said that beekeeping not only gives honey but also helps in pollination of corps. The yield of agriculture/horticulture crops is increased 20-30% by cross pollination. Deputy Director Agriculture (Central) disclosed that beekeeping is one of the most thrust areas which generates employment opportunities for the unemployed youth/farmers/farm women. Assistant Entomologist Apiculture said that the departmental will give all innovative technique to the trainees during the five days training programme which will help them in learning all tit-bits for fetching more profits.
