| National youth day celebrated at MIER | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 17: National Social Service (NSS) unit of MIER College of Education commemorated birth anniversary of Swami Vivekanand by organizing an essay writing competition.
Topic of the contest was ‘Youth- the Nation Builders’. Students of B.Ed , M.Ed and B.Ed special education participated enthusiastically. Judges for the competition were Dr. Ira Bhan (Senior Lecturer, P. G. Dept.), Shashi Kaul (Senior Lecturer, B. Ed) and Monika Marwaha (Lecturer, B. Ed) . Sovit Kumar of B.Ed special education, Vani Malhotra of B. Ed general and Shifali Goswami of B. Ed special education bagged the first, second and third prizes.
Dr. Adit Gupta, Joint Director MIER felicitated prize winners and distributed certificates among them. He lauded efforts of NSS unit of the college for organizing such an intellectually stimulating activity. He furthermore emphasized need to channelize energy of the youth to revolutionize the society.
Vinod Kalra, NSS programme officer expressed his gratitude to Dr. Adit Gupta for extending his full fledged support to the NSS unit. He also thanked staff and students of MIER College of Education for making the event a success.
