Batwal association raises demands | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 17: Jammu and Kashmir Batwal Welfare Association has expressed satisfaction over Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s decision to attend Guru Gyagi Ji birthday celebration function. The meeting was held under the leadership Darshan Lal Motan. Association General Secretary R.L. Kaith informed community members that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has consented to be Chief Guest of Sri Guru Gyagi Ji Birthday Celebration Function to be organized on February 18, 2011 at Shahzadpur. Association approved the memorandum to be submitted to the Chief Minister on the auspicious day. Demands enshrined in the memorandum included grant of employment package to the community on the basis of report of its ethnography study; representation to the community in the Upper House; funds for development of the premises of Guru Gyagi Temple at Shahzadpur and Lord Buddha Temple at Bishnah; and allotment of suitable land in Jammu city for the construction of community hall. Association also resolved to honour IPS Gareeb Dass Kaith, DGP Medalist Harbans Lal Motan, Sena Medalist Hans Raj Nandan and Distinction Holders belonging to the community. Prominent among those who attended the meeting included Sat Pal Lakhotra, Dr. Ramesh Kaith, Master Ajaib Singh Motan, Capt. Om Parkash Tugga, Sub. Ghaseeta Ram Lakhotra, G.C. Sandhu, Diwan Chand Tugga, Mela Ram Tugga, Om Parkash Sargotra, Mohan Lal Motan and Ram Lal Lakhotra.
