Expedite disposal of pending cases under Roshni Act: Bhalla | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jan 18: Minister for Revenue Raman Bhalla on Tuesday chaired a high level meeting of Revenue Officers to discuss revenue related issues of general masses, particularly early disposal of pending land registration cases under Roshni Act. Addressing the meeting, Bhalla asked for exploring possibilities for relaxation of the rules with regard to registrations under Roshni Act for small residential land holders who cannot pay the prescribed rates. He constituted committee to go into these specific problems and called for its recommendations for any clarification/amendment in the Roshni Act within stipulated time frame. He asked the officers to expedite disposal of pending cases under the Act so that the proprietary rights are granted to the applicants adding that the government is committed to provide people-friendly administration to the people and solve their problems in shortest possible time. Bhalla said that government is endeavoring for creation of revenue related infrastructure in every nook and corner of the state as land management constitutes the backbone of overall administration. Minister said most of the vacant posts of Tehsildars, Naib Tehsildars, Girdawars, and Patwaris have already been filled up, adding that the short fall especially in with regard to Patwaris and Naib Tehsildars would be meeting shortly. Financial Commissioner (FC) Revenue Parmod Jain, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Dr. Pawan Kotwal, Secretary Revenue, Ejaz Iqbal, Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Sanjeev Verma, Deputy Commissioner (Central) J S Manhas, Additional Secretary, Revenue, Bashir Ahmed Khan, Assistant Commissioner, Nazool, Pawan Kumar, Assistant Commissioner, Revenue, Indeerjit Bhagat besides other senior officers of Revenue and Nazool departments were present in the meeting.
