| Railway authorities in slumber | | JKNPP stages protest, seeks compensation | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Jan 18: Activists of Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) today staged protest at railway station in Vijaypur area of Samba district against the abhorrent attitude of the authorities of Northern Railway.
Led by JKNPP provincial general secretary Rajesh Parogtra, activists raised slogans and expressed concern over delay in releasing compensation to the people whose land was taken by the railway authorities. Speaking on the occasion, Rajesh Parogotra said that people belonging to villages Thalori Porahamba, Thalori Gujjran, Thalori Camp, Amoal Camp, Sangwal, Simbalwaqli, Badwal and Gura Slathia are waiting for the railway authorities to release them promised compensation amount.
Parogotra warned railway officials to either provide compensation to them or face the consequences. He also appealed Union Railway Minister Mamta Banergee and Divisional Railway Manager Northern Railway Ferozpur to personally intervene. Among others who participated in the protest included Khazoor Singh, Uttam Chand, Govind Ram Sharma, Sain Dass, Jamit Raj, Bua Ditta, Alla Rakha, Mohinder Verma, Chaman Lal Verma and others.
