JAMMU | NOV 8 The state Samajwadi Party has expressed its solidarity with the Ret (Rehbar-e-Taleem) teachers, who are sitting on Dharna, in support of their demand for regularization of their services. An announcement, to this effect, was made by Samajwadi Party president and former Member Parliament, Sheikh Abdul Rehman, while addressing the meeting of office bearers. He, however, regretted that the Ret scheme, is more or less failure in the state, while it is successful and thrives, in Rajasthan, where it is called as “Shiksha Karmi” Sheikh, while criticizing the existing coalition government, assailed it for indulging in multiple scams, in the Ret Centres, as well as in the selections and said that in a way, by not acceding to the genuine demands of Ret teachers, serious damage id being caused to the said, scheme, in the state. The issue relating to the death punishment to Ex. President of Iraq, Sadam Hussain, also came in for discussion, and the members present unanimously described it as an act of vendetta on the part of Supreme Cop the president of America, George Bush. The members, made it clear that although they are not supporting Saddam Hussain, but at the same time, they can not remain without pointing out that Sadam was not given free and fair trial- as three of his defence lawyers, were killed during the trial. Ram Prakash, Sham Lal Mahasha, Hari Krishan Tickoo, Sheikh Mohd Shafi, and Ram Singh Chouhan were among the prominent office bearers, who were present in the said meeting.
