| LC panel seeks vehicles for DEPOs | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Jan 18: Departmental Related Committee (DRC) of Legislative Council on Education department has suggested for allotting vehicles to all District Education Planning Officers (DEPOs) so that they can monitor schemes conveniently.
Committee which met here today under the Chairmanship of MLC Rashid Qureshi discussed status and implementation of centrally sponsored schemes, details regarding upgradation of schools, mid-day meal implementation and district wise funding of different sector.
Committee stressed on checking quality and quantity of food items supplied for mid-day meals. It asked for upgradation of all such schools which qualify under norms and directed to gear up the recruitment process for all vacant teaching staff. Chairman of the committee asked the concerned to conduct inspections on regular basis and implement the rules strictly.
