Defaulting traders penalized

UDHAMPUR, Jan 18: To check the quality and rates of eatables, a checking squad comprising Naib-Tehsildar Chenani, Station House Officer and Tehsil Supply Officer conducted a surprise check of different business establishments at Chenani town and its adjoining areas here today.
Checking team under the supervision of Tehsildar Chenani R.K Anand inspected various shops including dhabas, fruit and vegetable shops, tea stalls, kiryana stores and realized a fine to the tune of Rs 6700 under Essential Commodity Act (ECA). Shopkeepers were asked to sell quality products on reasonable rates to the consumers. Tehsildar Chenani told that such drives would remain continue in different parts of the tehsil and action under rule would be initiated against defaulters in near future also.
