| TATA Consultancy recruits 39 engineers from SMVDU | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
KATRA, 18 Jan: A high level 14 member team from TCS conducted Campus placement exercise at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University campus for the
Engineering students of SMVDU. The intensely competitive and
exhaustive process was spread over two days with On-line written test
followed by three levels of interview. 39 engineering students from
SMVDU successfully went through the process and have been offered the
position of Associate Software Engineer with an annual package of
Rs.3.16Lakh. This was the first joint placement drive conducted by
TCS at the campus of SMVDU following the accreditation of the
university by TCS in April 2010. Students from Govt. college of
engineering & Technology, Jammu and NIT, Srinagar also participated in
the placement process; and 20 & 15 students, respectively were also
offered positions by TCS.
The TCS team was extremely impressed with the infrastructure available
at SMVDU for conduct of such a large campus event and expressed their
desire to conduct the joint campus drive annually at the SMVDU campus.
The team also expressed their satisfaction with the quality of the
students selected from SMVDU. Vice-Chancellor Prof. R N K Bamezai
interacted with the team members of TCS and assured all support for
such drives in future which would help in seeking employment
opportunities for the students of J&K. Prof. Bamezai congratulated
the selected students and asked them to act as brand ambassadors for
SMVDU at TCS.
