Hockey dying slow death in J&K | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jan 18: Despite being national game, Hockey in Jammu and Kashmir is facing extreme neglect both from the state government and sports bodies. Sources said that government has not been able to organize any major competition in Jammu and Kashmir. Former hockey player Narender Batra is Chairman of hockey Federation. It is pertinent to mention here that there were 20 hockey clubs in the state but now there are only 6. Further, it was under the supervision of Batra, Indian team won the commonwealth gold and also topped the table in the Asian games.
