| Interlocutors call on Dy CM | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Jan 18 – The interlocutors today called on Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Tara Chand at Civil Secretariat.
They had one and a half hour long meeting with him.
In the meeting various issues with regard to Jammu & Kashmir were discussed threadbare.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that present coalition government is working for equitable development of all the regions. He informed the interlocutors that majority of the people of Jammu & Kashmir are peace lovers and eager for development in various sectors.
He said that during last several years various developmental initiatives were taken, which had good impact on the psychic of the people.
Mr. Tara Chand said that the central government provided liberal funds to the State which enabled state government to launch mega projects in all the departments of the State.
While interacting with interlocutors with regard to youth unemployment problem, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the government has adopted very transparent policy in this sector. He said SKWEPY was launched to enable large number of youth to take benefit of the same. The Public Service Commission and Recruitment Boards have been geared up for speedy recruitments in most genuine and transparent manner.
The Deputy Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to UPA Chairperson Madam Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and Union Home Minister Mr. P. Chidambaram for nominating interlocutors who are playing appreciable role in the State at present by interacting with various sections of the society.
