| SVO closes case against kerosene oil dealers | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Jan 18: After investigating the case for one and a half year, state vigilance organization today filed closure report in the case of issuance of no objection certificate (NOC) to two kerosene oil stockists on the alleged fake reports prepared by the officials of consumer affairs and public distribution department (CAPDD) and Deputy Chief Controller Explosive (DCCE) Chandigarh.
According to reports, allegation had resulted into renewal of kerosene oil stockists’ license to Karam Chand Saraf and Sons along with Sham Lal and company with its storage sites at Vijaypur and pouni Chak respectively during the period commencing from April, 2008 to January, 2009.
In a surprise check, it was found that as per rules, concerned CAPD Officials and Deputy Chief Controller Explosive would inspect store, tanks existing on ground and issued recommendation for issue/renewal of kerosene oil, stockiest license. The licensed stockiest would receive storage commission of Rs 43 per KL from concerned Oil Corporation as per the report of the SVO.
Joint Surprise Check found that above mentioned stockiest had no storage tanks available at required places to store kerosene oil received from concerned oil corporation during the period April 2008 to January, 2009. Storage tanks were found non-functional and stockiest were not entitled storage commission of Rs. 43 per kilolitre. Investigation of case was closed by SVO since it failed in its investigation to substantiate the allegations and filed final report in the court of law by the SVO.
