| TAFCUB meeting held | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Jan 18: The fourth meeting of the State Level Task Force on Urban Co-Operative Banks (TAFCUB) held at RBI office here today.
The meeting, which was held under the Chairmanship of Arnab Roy,
Regional Director for Jammu & Kashmir (Chairman of TAFCUB), reviewed
the performance of the 4 Urban Co-operative Banks in the Urban Banking
Sector in the State of Jammu and Kashmir and also set the parameters
for guidance of the sector in the immediate future.
Opening of new bank branches, appointment(s) of Chief Executive
Officer, preparation of a panel of persons for appointment as
Administrator/Chairman on the Board of superseded banks, proposed
amendments to J & K Co-operative Societies Act 1989 along with latest
policy developments were the major issues discussed in the meeting.
The meeting was also attended by Co-Chairman M. Abbas Dar, IAS,
Registrar, Co-operative Societies, Jammu and Kashmir, H.S. Khitaulia,
Deputy General Manager, Urban Banks Department, RBI, Jammu and Chief
Executive Officers of the 4 UCBs.
