Sham stresses improvement in medicare services | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jan 18: Underlining the need to further improve healthcare delivery system on ground, Minister for Health Sham Lal Sharma has called upon the doctors and para-medics to redouble efforts to achieve better results. He said that health is the core area for the Government and all necessary measures would be taken to strengthen it. Minister was reviewing the performance of the health department at a meeting held in the Regional Training Institute at Nagrota near here today. Lauding the doctors and para-medics for their brilliant performance which led the department to obtain top most slot in the country in primary healthcare, the Minister asked everyone to redouble their efforts to accelerate the tempo and sustain the honour conferred on the organization. “It is a matter of pride for everyone associated with the department to get this honour, but at the same time he cautioned them to identify the weaker areas and plugging the gaps accordingly”, he said. Laying greater stress on maintaining transparency in the system, the Minister said that no one will be allowed to violate the norms while implementing various centrally sponsored schemes and other health related programmes. He asked the doctors to work with extra zeal and dedication to maintain the credibility of noble profession. He asked them not to come under the influence of any one and perform their duties as per the medical ethics, which are the paramount parameters to save the precious lives. Asking some poor performers to mend ways and improve their performance in future, the Minister said that everyone is accountable and performance will be linked with their promotion and other prospects.
