Upset Farooq to appoint monitors for projects | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 19: Taken aback by noises of scam surfacing in his ministry, Ministry for New and Renewable Energy Dr. Farooq Abdullah has decided to appoint national level monitors for comprehensive monitoring of the projects which the ministry has installed or sanctioned across the country. Sources said that former Chief Minister of J&K Farooq Abdullah is keen to see that all the projects sanctioned and set up by his ministry are functional and people especially those belonging to far-flung areas like Ladakh are able to derive benefits. Sources said that Ministry has decided to appoint retired officers of civil, Defence services, department of Auditor and Computer General of India. They added that Dr Farooq Abdullah has been liberal in sanctioning solar projects in various areas of the country besides prominent places of worship. He maintained that Farooq is averse to poor management of the projects. According to these reports, monitors are likely to be tasked with recommending measures that may be required for either upgrading the project or for carrying out some modifications.
