Bhalla asks officers to reach people, solve hardships | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 19: To meet the requirement of drinking water facilities at Deshmash Nagar and Gangyal in coming summer season, Minister for Revenue Raman Bhalla today said that government has planned to dig another one-lakh gallon discharge capacity tube well on available land near Rajiv Gandhi Hospital in Gangyal. This was stated by Minister while interacting with people at Deshmash Nagar after starting work for lying of one-kilometer long drinking water supply pipes in uncovered areas of the locality, for which Government has earmarked Rs. 11 lakh. Bhalla asked the PHE authorities to complete digging and other allied works within stipulated time frame for the benefit of area populace. He said that central government headed by Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh too has realized Jammu and Kashmir needs liberal funding for completing ongoing projects on modern lines. He asked officers to work in coordination and complete all the projects within stipulated time. Minister also referred to steps being taken by coalition government to improve efficiency of the government departments and said that e-governance was being introduced to enforce accessibility of information of these departments. Regarding restoration of breach portion of canal and nallah at Gangyal, he said directions were issued to Irrigation and Flood Control (I&FC) officers to complete the work in double shifts so that the local people do not face any inconvenience. He said coalition He also inspected the construction work of three view points at one-kilometer long Sanjay Nagar park, for which, he announced Rs. 17 lakh adding that government has earmarked Rs. 1 crore for improving the infrastructural facilities in park including illumination, seating, sprinkle fountain, walkway besides construction of canal embankment on modern lines.
