| Rallies planned at district headquarters on completion of one year: Peerzada | | PCC organizing massive rally on Indira Gandhi’s birth anniversary | | JAMMU NOV-08- In connection with the observance of 89th birth Anniversary of former Prime Minister Mrs Indira Gandhi as also on the completion of one year of Azad led coalition government in the State, the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee is organizing a massive rally at historic Parade Ground here on November 19. The Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, besides the other senior leaders of the party, will address the rally. To chalk out the program and other arrangements, a meeting of prominent leaders of the party was held at the party headquarters under the chairman of the PCC President Peerzada Mohammed Sayeed here today.
Senior Congress leader and Minister for Health and Medical Education Minister Pt Mangat Ram Sharma,, Mula Ram, Ramban Bhalla, S. Parduman Singh Arvinder Singh Micky legislators, Dharam Paul Sharma, , Yash Paul Khajuria, Hari Singh, Vinod Sharma, Shiv Dev Singh, Kanta Bhan, Indu Pawar, Om Chopra and Balwan Singh DCC Presidents attended the meeting. Addressing the meeting, the PCC Chief said that on completion of one year of Congress led coalition government, a series of rallies are being organized at all district headquarters in the State in next one month which shall be addressed by the Chief Minister and other senior party leaders. Peerzada Sayed said that the coalition government is credited with numerous achievements during the past one- year adding that the most vital commitments made in the Common Minimum Program have been fulfilled. He asked the Block Presidents and other party leaders to take the achievements to the people to counter the false propaganda of some opposition parties. ‘Saying that various steps have been taken by Centre and the State Government to find a negotiated settlement of Kashmir issue, the PCC Chief said that several ideas are being floated for the resolution of the Kashmiri imbroglio’, adding that ‘such formula has to be acceptable to the people of the state and the country.’ Veteran Congress leader and Minister for Health and Medical Education Mangat Ram Sharma apprised the meeting about the steps taken by the Congress led government to fulfill the commitment made to the people in the last elections. He said under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, the coalition government has further accelerated the pace of development on all fronts and there is remarkable performance of the government. Sharma said that decisions like Finance Commission, creation of eight districts and Delimitation Commission are the major achievements and impressed upon the party men to take these achievements to the people and strengthen the party at the grass roots level. Among others present in the meeting included Vinod Mishra, Swaran Lata, Baldev Sharma, Maheshwar Singh, Ashok Sharma, Mehraj-ud-Din Zarger, Anil Chopra, Darshan Raina, Krishan Lal Gupta, Amlok Singh, Narinder Sharma, M L Koul, Raval Matoo, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Balwinder Singh Sambyal, Hans Raj Bhagat JMC Corporators and several Pradesh Youth Congress leaders.
