Communalism a great threat to the society: Tarachand | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jan 19 – Reiterating resolve of the government to develop rural and far- flung areas of the state, Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Tara Chand today said equipping these areas with required infrastructure is priority of the government and various development schemes have been launched in this regard. Cautioning people against divisive forces, Tara Chand described communalism as a great threat to the society. He called upon people to be vigilant against those who try to divide the society on communal and regional lines. He said stalwart leaders have fought against such forces and now it’s the duty of the younger generation to follow the path shown by these leaders. He said this while addressing series of public meetings at Kharah, Sehar, Thani choi, Chowdhreywala, Kartial-Simbal, Pangali, Datyal, Mattu and Rakh-Malal in Chhamb constituency. “Exemplary development initiatives taken by the government clearly show seriousness of the current dispensation towards all round development of the state”, said Mr. Tara Chand. Earlier, the Deputy Chief Minister was profusely garlanded by the people at all the places and they expressed gratitude on the recent cabinet decision to declare three villages of the constituency as backward. While addressing the gatherings, Tara Chand said that various schemes have been launched to uplift socio-economic status of rural areas and government is doing its best by extending benefits of various kinds to these areas. “Encourage children for education as it’s the most potent tool which can help in reaping real benefits from various social welfare and other schemes”, he said.
