| GCW Parade organizes lecture on Women’s Rights | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Jan 19: An interactive Lecture on "Awareness of Women's Rights among Youth" was organised by Centre for Women Studies, Governmetn College for Women, Parade. The lecture was sponsored by State Women Commission, J&K, to celebrate the National Youth Day.
On the occasion, the Chief Guest was Vijay Laxmi Dutta Member, State Women Commission and among the resource persons were Hafeeza Muzaffar, Secretary State Women Commission, Prof. Rita Jitendra, a social activist. The session started with the welcome address by Dr. Shashi Kaul Director CWS GCW Parade, Jammu, where she stressed on the importance of women in the progress of the Nation.
In the interaction session the students were made aware regarding various women rights viz-a-viz political rights, educational/social rights, and economical rights. They were also made aware regarding domestic violence, eve teasing, exploitation at work places, and
various measures to be taken in these situations. The session ended with the vote of thanks by Prof. Sanjay S Samyal who stressed that Men and Women have to work hand-in-hand to achieve universal success.
