| Boat takes Chenab route to go across border | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Jan 19: A boat of flood control department has gone missing from the mighty Chenab river at Hamirpur in Akhnoor.
Tied with a rope to a nearby tree, the boat was lying abandoned on the Chenab bank for the past some time, police sources said.
The boat was this morning found missing on the bank by some flood control department employees who brought the matter to the notice of police.
Sources said as police failed to get any trace of it in the river, it was felt that the currents had pushed it across the borders in Pakistan.
The boat was kept there by the department to evacuate Hamirpur residents to safer places whenever the river was flooded. |
