Court remands Girdawar to Vigilance custody

Jammu, November, 8-
Special Judge Anti Corruption Jammu Mr. J R Kotwal today remanded Girdawar Kanshi Ram S/o Fisa Ram R/o Thakla Tehsil Nowshera, who was caught red-handed by the VOJ team while accepting bribe, to Vigilance custody up to November 11, 2006.
Investigating Officer Zahid Wani today produced accused Kanshi Ram in custody before the Court of Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu with an application seeking five days remand of the accused to VOJ as such custody is required for the purpose of investigation.
JR Kotwal after hearing Chief Prosecuting Officer Onkar Singh appearing for the VOJ and accused present in custody and also perused entire record produced by the Investigating Officer. According to the case accused, who is a Girdawar circle Mangal Dai was caught red handed and arrested on November 7, 2006 when he was demanding and accepting bribe from the complainant. The allegations against the accused have been well founded and a case for remand to VOJ custody of the accused is made out and accordingly the accused is remanded to VOJ custody.
