Convention discusses issues of numberdars, chowkidars

Jammu, Jan 20, 2011: All Numberdars and Chowkidars Association today held a one day convention to discuss various issues pertaining to numberdar and chowkidars under the chairmanship of its patron and former minister Thakur Gulchain Singh Charak here today.
More than 2700 representing the various districts and tehsils of the State participated.
Speaking on the occasion, Gulchain Singh Charak said that Numberdars and Chowkidars are the most important institutions of a democratic sountry especially in the state of militancy ravaged Jammu and Kashmir State. The Numberdars and Chowkidars have been playing a major role in the state and the fact has been recognized by various state governments, who have held some promises for the welfare of the community.
He appealed these grass root institutions to extend their all possible help to the Govt agencies to carry out the developmental activities and implementation of the different schemes including the Central Sponsored in their respective villages earnestly. He assured them his full support for their cause and also thanked Dogra Sadar Sabha Members for the same who have struggled for the cause of these institutions.
Charak congratulated the members for maintaining their unity at all levels. A large number of ministers, MLCs and other government functionaries participated in the convention where various issues were raised by the participants and a memorandum of demands was submitted to the government for consideration.
Political Advisor to chief minister Mubarak Gul, Minister of State Shabir Khan, Ex-minister & MLC, Abdul Gani Vakil, ex-Minister & MLA Mohammad Sharief Niaz, Naresh Gupta- MLC, Jugal Kishore Sharma, Ex-Minister, Ali Mohd Bhat Hon’ble MLC, Garu Ram Ex-Minister, addressing the convention assured them that government will take all necessary steps to implement the decision taken by the previous Govt and take other measures to fulfill the other demands raised by the association on the occasion.

Arora, Dharam Chand Member, President ALL J&K Numberdar & Chowkidar Association, Sardar Singh, Satnam Sharma, Haji Mohamed Azad, Sr. Fateh Singh, Sh. Baldev Raj, Sh. Balwinder Singh Sambyal, Sh. Prabh Dayal, Mohan Sharma, Angrez Singh, Dev Raj Verma (Union President Chowkidar R. S. Pura) , Diwan Singh, Janak Singh, Dr. M. L. Rao, Subha Singh, Rakesh Dogra and others.
