| Kashmir resolution our core agenda: Mehbooba | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Jan 20: Peoples Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti has said the core issue for her party remains peaceful resolution of the problem of Jammu and Kashmir and it would continue to strive for it within the democratic space.
Expressing her thanks and appreciation for the party leaders, workers and sympathizers for making Wednesday’s district level demonstration program a success, Mehbooba said she expected the message to go home to the government that Kashmir problem cannot be pushed under the carpet and neither would it disappear without resolving it.
She said that current chance provided by people should be utilized for serious political, diplomatic and administrative action that brings relief into the situation as also gives a head start to resolution effort. “The PDP will continue to highlight this and other related issues”, Mehbooba said.
PDP president said her party would use all the available forums within the state and in the country to bring Kashmir problem into focus and put it in the right perspective as we would need a sympathetic and well informed public opinion to help the cause of the state. She said the awareness created in the country as a result of recent turmoil that cost numerous innocent lives needed to be built upon to achieve an amicable solution that is endorsed by a majority of people.
