Bhalla appeals for communal harmony, peace | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 21: Minister for Revenue Raman Bhalla today said that coalition government is committed to provide all civic amenities, including, safe drinking water, roads, lanes and drains to the people across the state and its peripheries. Minister was interacting with people after inaugurating various development works costing Rs 21 lakh included road widening of Auqaf market besides construction of embankments of nallah at Sheikh Nagar and Kalika Colony in Bahu Fort area executed by Urban Environmental Engineering Department and Roads and Buildings departments. To improve power scenario in Shastri Nagar, Sanjay Nagar, Gandhi Nagar and Parts of Nai Basti and other adjoining areas, Bhalla said that government has earmarked Rs. 3.26 crore for construction of 10 MVA 33/11 KV Receiving Station at Shastri Nagar adding that ongoing works on project will be completed by March, 2011. He said that after the commissioning of the receiving station, power supply in Shastri Nagar, Sanjay Nagar, Gandhi Nagar and Nai Basti areas would witness great improvement. Minister said a massive development in various sectors like, power, health, education, roads and buildings, revenue, relief and rehabilitation, etc, has been registered in the State because of tireless efforts of the coalition government headed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. He said that state government is committed to provide all basic amenities to the people of the state. Bhalla urged people for maintaining peace and harmony adding that state has faced lot of troubles during the last 20-year long turmoil. He cautioned the people to remain vigilant from those elements, who mislead people for their vested interests. He said that need of the hour is to strengthen the peace and defeat anti-national elements.
