EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Jan 21: All Jammu and Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC) Volunteer Retirement Employees Association organized meet the press to redress issues pertaining to SRTC employees who opted for VRS, here today. The function was chaired by president Dev Raj Kohli.
Briefing the media, Bali criticized the recent statement of Managing Director of JKSRTC in which he said that dues of the VRS employees were given in totality and VRS employees were making a nuisance in front of his office. Bali said that his statement is totally false and if the dues of VRS employees were totally cleared then why they are struggling for the last two years as they have not time to waste in demonstration, they only want to their dues .
He also said that one more glaring point is that the MD takes the VRS employees of the J&K SRTC as second class citizens.
He added J&K SRTC management has given the 126 slabs of COLA to its regular employees but the VRS employees have been deprived from this, whereas they took the VRS on the government assurance that those who took the VRS whose benefits and dues will be cleared on time.
Managing Director (MD) of JKSRTC said that the COLA will be given to the regular employees only not to the VRS employees.
The employees demanded to give CP Fund interest since 1999 with COLA from 2006.
Prominent among others who were present on the occasion included B V Sharma, Surinder Singh, Balwinder Singh, Prem Nath and Surat Singh besides other.
