| Illicit liquor seized, Man, woman held | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU Jan 21 : In the order to curb bootlegging and eradicate illicit distillation of liquor in the State, the sleuths of Excise Department from Sub-Excise Range Udhampur conducted raids at village Panjar and Moungri Tehsil and Distt Udhampur.
During the course of raids, one man namely Viju s/o Gulaboo and a woman namely Jado w/o Darshan both residents of village Panjar Tehsil and Distt Udhampur were found in possession of one bottle each of illicit liquor.
The accused were booked under section 48 of J&K Excise Act. Besides 4 tin containing about 60 kg of lahan were recovered from the State land in village Moungri which were destroyed on spot.
Excise raids were conducted by Gopal Kumar, Inspector, Sub Excise Range, Udhampur under the supervision of N.R. Moghal, Excise and Taxation Officer, Doda Udhampur Excise Range along with Excise staff of Sub Excise Range Udhampur.
