Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 21: Underlining commitment of present coalition government to develop remote areas of the state, Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand today said that government is endeavoring to address developmental needs of those living in far-flung and rural belts.
Tara Chand said this while addressing public rally at Pargwal near here. “Government is steadfast on its resolve for equitable development of all regions of the state and with active support from the central government major projects have been started,” he said. Deputy Chief Minister said that in order to uplift socio-economic profile of the area, works in different sectors are apace and results of which would soon be visible on ground.
He said that various projects have been undertaken in the area including, up gradation of Pargwal road to double lane, construction of multi-crore Khour- Pargwal bridge besides construction of receiving stations and a lift irrigation scheme on Manawar Tawi. Calling upon youth to derive maximum benefit from employment schemes, Tara Chand said that Sher-e-Kashmir Employment Welfare Program for Youth (SKEWPY) is flagship program and a big leap towards burgeoning problem of unemployment.
Welcoming the new entrants, Tara Chand said that the party has always fought for the cause of common man and welfare of the masses through propagation of secular, democratic and progressive philosophy. “It is heartening to note that more and more people are joining hands with the party thus strengthening movement of development which has been launched in the state with the whole hearted support of the central government,” he said.
