Handicraft department penalizes traders | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 21: Quality Control team of Handicrafts Department headed by Deputy Director Quality Control V. K. Dhar conducted inspection of handicraft dealers of Katra town yesterday under the purview of Tourist Trade Act/ Quality Control Act, whereby inter-alia fake labeling and non-registration was keenly scrutinized. A penalty of Rs. 6400 was imposed on the erring dealers on spot. The erring dealers were cautioned not to indulge in such malpractice in future otherwise stern action will be taken as warranted under rule. They were also advised to sell genuine and quality handicraft products so that good image of J&K Handicraft products will be disseminated by the pilgrim tourists all over India.
