Soz for connecting Sgr with Jeddah via Dubai | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jan 22: The Ministry of Civil Aviation was extremely unfair to the state by canceling the Srinagar-Dubai flight for no rational reasons, Pradesh Congress Committee President Prof Saifuddin Soz said. In a press statement issued here today, Prof Soz said that he met, Union Minister of Civil Aviation, Vayalar Ravi late last night and told him that the Srinagar-Dubai flight was introduced with great fan-fair and that event had constituted a heart-warming gesture towards the people of the State. This flight was cancelled in a huff and no argument worked with the Ministry. “I told the Minister that the J&K State is not receiving a fair deal from the Civil Aviation Ministry and, therefore, he (the Minister) must look into the issues that has been raised with the Ministry in recent times,” Prof Soz said “I further informed the Minister that the issue was raised three times by me in the Parliament Standing Committee on Transport, Tourism and Culture, but the Ministry did not budge.” he added PCC president pleaded with the Minister very strongly that he should consider a workable and advantageous proposition that Srinagar be connected with Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) via Dubai and within days that a large number of passengers will use this route, particularly the ones who would go for Umrah. The Minister assured him fully that he would examine the proposal urgently and revert back shortly. “I also reminded the Minister, Civil Aviation, about the anxiety of dozens of employees of the Centaur Lake View Hotel, Srinagar who have, unfortunately, not been regularized for 15 to 17 years. He assured me that he would look into this matter also”, Prof Soz maintained
