Court grants bail to JE | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Jan: 22 (JNF):- Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu AK Koul today granted bail to Junior Engineer Purshtom Sharma who was caught red-handed by the VOJ on January 21, 2011 while accepting Rs 6000 as illegal gratification from complainant Contractor. The court after hearing Advocate Rozina Afzal for the Accused-Petitioner and CPO for the state observed that the apprehension of prosecution that the petitioner may temper with evidence if let out on bail, appears to be misconceived because nothing on record to show that the petitioner’s conduct previously has been questionable in any respect. So it may not be just to believe that the petitioner will misuse the concession of bail in any manner whatsoever. The ends of the justice demand that the petitioner must be given the liberty as craved for by him. There is another extenuating circumstances in favour of the petitioner because he is said to be ailing and his is hemoglobin is said to be for less and so his further detention may be hazardous to his health and ordered that petitioner be released from the custody provided he furnishes personal bond and surety bond to the tune of Rs 25000/- each.
