First ever Super Specialty Oncology Clinic inaugurated | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, JAN 22: ON the persuasion of Minister for Health and Family Welfare Sham Lal Sharma, super specialists of two leading hospitals will provide free consultation to the patients suffering from serious ailments like cancer, heart, neurological and allied diseases. Senior consultants of Medanta (Medicity) Hospital, Gurgaon and Fortis Escort hospital, Amritsar will provide their services in the Gandhi Nagar hospital on fixed days. Inaugurating the first-ever Super Specialty Oncology (Cancer) Clinic in the Government Hospital, Gandhi Nagar here today, the Minister said that it is endeavour of the coalition government to provide quality health services to the patients at their doorstep. Describing Government Hospitals, Gandhi Nagar, Sarwal in Jammu and Rainawari in Srinagar as premier institutions, the Minister said that these institutions cater to the large population and government has equipped these hospitals adequately. Complementing the good gestures of Medanta and Fortis Escort hospitals for providing valuable services to the poor patients, the Minister said that people who cannot afford to move outside the State for specialized treatment will be benefited in a big way. He apprised that visiting consultants including Dr. Ashok Vaid and Dr. Rajiv Gupta, who are leading cancer specialists and sons of the soil and other consultants will be available on every Saturday or the days being notified later in the Gandhi Nagar hospital.
