3 die of asphyxia in Baramulla | | | Early Times Report BARAMULLA, Jan 22: Three persons died in north Kashmir's Baramulla district due to suffocation caused by an LPG heater last night. Official sources said that Khurshid Ahmad Bahroo son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din of Bandipora, a Defence Assistant Labor Officer, his cook Parvez Ahmad Wagay son of Abdur Rehman of New Colony Shopian and his guest Mohammad Akbar Khan son of Mohammad Ramzan of Plan Bandipora, died of asphyxia when they were sleeping in a room here where an LPG heater was on last night. "They died due to suffocation," reports said. Eyewitnesses said when nobody came out of the house where the trio was sleeping till today afternoon neighbors went to enquire about them. "Smoke was emanating from the room where the trio was sleeping and they had died because of suffocation." SHO Barmaulla said that initial investigations have found that the trio died due to suffocation. "Initial investigations have revealed that they died because of inhalation of Carbon Monoxide. Post mortem report is awaited," he added. The bodies have been handed over to the families---two in Bandipore and one in Shopian. All three were reportedly buried this evening. |
