Two arrested with fake Indian currency | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT srinagar, Jan 22: Two persons have been arrested and fake Indian currency with face value of Rs 7,500 has been recovered form them in Baramulla district of north Kashmir, police said today. Mushtaq Ahmad Mir and Khursheed Ahmad War, both residents of Kupwara district, were arrested last evening and counterfeit Indian notes with face value of Rs 7,500 recovered from them, a police spokesman said. The arrests were made following questioning of another accused, Ghulam Mohammad Mir, from whom fake currency with face value of Rs 42,000 was recovered last week, he said. The spokesman said more arrests are expected in the coming days in connection with the case. Yesterday, police had arrested a man with fake currency notes with face value of Rs 13,000 while he was tying to deposit them in a bank at Sogam in Lolab area of Kupwara district. |
