Jammu, Jan 22: Some senior People’s Democratic Party leaders have been silent for the past one year which
indicates that all is not well in PDP camp. Though the leaders in discussion have not openly came out against their party and leadership so far , but their complete silence for the past one year
despite being front runner faces of the opposition party has raised many eyebrows. The analysts are discussing whether there is any thing wrong with the persons who used to be front runner faces of PDP
in past . Two main faces of People’s Democratic party (PDP) former Deputy Chief Minister Muzzafer Hussain Beig and former finance Minister ,
Tariq Hameed Qarra have been keeping silence for the almost one year despite the fact that state of Jammu and Kashmir remained in news during the period due to the wrong doings of the government . Both the leaders are the founder faces of the opposition party who had joined Mufti Mohammad
Sayeed’s PDP on the first day of its formation on 28Jully 1999. Not only they joined the new party,
they are considered architects of the organization which was formed with an aim
to provide an alternative in the politics of Jammu and Kashmir and root out the corrupt system prevailing in the state. When this group was launched by Mufti Mohammad Sayeed in 1999, no body took it seriously saying that these handful of people can not make any impact.
However, with in three years of its formation, this hand full group of people led by Mufti Mohammad Sayed managed to win 13 assembly segments in valley and also managed to form the government
with Congress support despite having less number of seats as compared to Congress and National Conference .
It was the time for the party to expand and grow and a stalwart politician like Mufti Syed opened his
doors for every one whosoever wished to come in . The move apparently irritated all those who were proud to be the founder members of the party and had been claiming to provide an exemplary clean
political system in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
Observers say that two main and founder faces of the party Muzzafer Hussain Beig and Tariq
Hameed Qarra have sidelined themselves and both have been keeping complete silence for the past one year despite being the fact that they had enough matter and issues to corner the government being opposition leaders. The silence of both these leaders indicates that all is not well in Mufti camp
. Sources say, the new entrants have not only managed to get the important positions in the
organization even took over or completely hijacked the organization agneda and rendered the claims of eradicating corruption hollow. This has irritated the founder members and they opted to go silent.
Observers says that if the party leadership does not makes an immediate repair in the cracks appearing in the house, it will prove damaging for the party.
