| State level DVOs’ conference on Jan 27 | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Jan 23: A state level Departmental Vigilance Officers’ (DVOs) Conference will be held here on January 27 to infuse fresh energy to the institution and give impetus to its working further.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will inaugurate and address the 10th State level DVOs conference at Police Auditorium, Gulshan Ground. The Vigilance Organization over the years has been geared up to launch a full-fledged campaign against corruption in the State. The DVOs are being sensitized to play a supplementary role in stamping out menace of corruption.
The DVOs are actually performing the role of nodal officers to monitor disposal of complaints from the Vigilance Organization, HODs or directly from the public. These officers function in close coordination with Vigilance Organization and enquire into the complaints within a specified timeframe whenever such complaints are brought to the notice of the department.In pursuit of its watchdog functions, the Vigilance Organization has intensified its crusade against the bribery and graft practices.
