Nai Basti to soon get new tube well: Bhalla | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jan 23: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla today said that the Government has accorded sanction to the transfer of land in village Raipur, Satwari in favour of the Housing and Urban Development Department for rehabilitation of the occupants of the land under reference in a planned manner. The land measuring 28 kanals and 14 marlas under Khasra Nos. 390, he said, has been transferred to the department vide Govt. Order No. Rev (S) 10 of 2011 dated: 14-01-2011. The Minister was addressing a large gathering at Rampura in Nai Basti, here this afternoon. Bhalla said the Government has sanctioned Rs 4 lakh for construction of both sides of embankments of local nallah with RCC slab at Rampura in Nai Basti. He asked the Urban Environmental Engineering Department (UEED) to complete the work within stipulated time frame for the convenience of general masses. Bhalla said that Government has submitted a project costing Rs. 3.5 crore to PHE Ministry for construction of Tube Well and laying of water supply pipes in the uncovered areas. To improve the power scenario in Shastri Nagar, Sanjay Nagar, Nai Basti, Rampura and Gandhi Nagar, Bhalla said the Government has earmarked Rs. 3.26 crore for construction of 10 MVA 33/11 KV Receiving Station at Shastri Nagar adding that project will be completed by March, 2011. Earlier, a deputation from Channi Rama led by Ex-Corporator, Kamal Singh met the Minister and demanded regularization of unauthorized colonies of Chani Rama, Narwal, Bathindi having Khasra No. 331 under Govt Order No. 88 of 2005 dated:18-03-2005 in which Rs. 20,000 per kanal for 13 colonies of Jammu city including Bathindi-Narwal have been fixed.
