Treat the disabled with care: Chib | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT KATHUA, Jan 23: Minister for Youth Services and Sports R S Chib has appealed to the people to treat physically challenged persons with care and help them to play a constructive role in the society. He was speaking at the valedictory function of three day District Games for disabled here at Sports Stadium Complex, Kathua today. About 300 disabled from across the border District participated in the three day sports event, first of its kind in the District. The event was organized under Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports Special Sports and Games scheme for Persons with Disabilities in collaboration with Special Olympics Bharat, Para Olympics Committee of India and All India Sports Council of the Deaf. RS Chib termed the sports event as turning point in the life of physically challenged persons of the district as it provided them with the opportunity to explore their hidden potential. He said the Government will provide all support to Special Olympics Bharat- J&K and appreciated it for putting in sincere efforts to make the event asuccess. MLA Kathua Charanjit Singh in his address said that persons with disabilities had contributed a lot in the past, especially in the literary works. He said guardian of such disabled persons should help them to attain success in their life. He also appealed to the citizens to become part of this movement. DDC Kathua, Zahida Khan who is also Chairperson of the District body of Special Olympics Bharat, appreciated Dr Ashwani Jojra and Er Mahesh Kinth area Director and its team for organizing the sports event. She also appreciated the sponsors who extended every support for making the event a grand success.
