PDTU flays coalition for anti-employees policies | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Jan 23: Criticising coalition government headed by National Conference for adopting anti-employees policies, Peoples Democratic Trade Union (PDTU) -comprising representatives of various trade unions, today warned to come on roads if government failed to release arrears for the Six Pay Commission. Addressing a meeting of the representatives of various departments, Union leaders regretted that State Government has been trying to befool the employees by giving contradictory statements. General Secretary of PDP Thakur Balbir Singh, spokesman of the party Sardar Rangil and Suresh Sharma, prominent trade union leader address the meeting. Speaking on the occasion, Union leader also demanded removal of pay anomalies particularly among the clerical cadre. They further demanded that local should be given priority in employment in industry. Coming down heavily upon the State Government for not taking employees problems seriously, Suresh Sharma demanded retirement age should be enhanced to 60 years. He also demanded enhancement of the salaries of Rehbar-e-Zirat and uniform rate of daily wagers of all over the State. He pointed out that daily wages of some departments were getting only meager amount and government should remove disparity in their wages. Sharma said Sixth Pay Commission report should be implemented in Pubic Sector Units (PSUs) in toto and DA should be given to the employees of PSUs. He also demanded that extension of benefit of reduction of qualification service for employees retired between January 1, 2006 to June 30, 2009. Anchal Bakshi, Rajesh Kumar, Darshan Magotra, Dr Kamal Bhat, B N Singh, Mohinder Kumar, Yaqob Ahmed, Surinder Kumar, Vikas Sharma, Rohit Dogra, Subash and others also addressed the gathering.
