CM urged to release DA instalment to govt employees

Jammu , Jan 23: National Mazdoor Conference, president, Subash Shastri today appealed the chief Minister to release the 10 per cent pending installment of DA due from July last year in favour of the state government employees and pensioners on the Republic Day, in view of rising prices of essential commodities and inflation.
Addressing a largely attended NMC workers rally at Rani Park, Shastri said that the delay in the release of DA installment has increased hardships to the employees and pensioners. Shastri said that when the central as well as several state governments have already released this installment to since long, there is no justification on the part of state government to withhold.
Shastri hoped that government will take favourable decision in this regard in the next cabinet meeting .
Other demands included early release of salary of motivators working in the IWDP Project, Akhnoor besides regularization of the services of daily wagers working in the RRD without further delay, enhancement in wages of daily wagers from Rs 110 to Rs 220 per day, declare Jammu and Srinagar cities as B-1 cities, constituting grievances cell in all the state government departments, release of 12% DA Installment due from January this year in favour of both central and state governments employees conversion of COLA into DA.
The rally was also addressed by Sham lal Sharma, Ashok Khajuria, Ram lal Sharma, Ram Pal Sharma, Geeta Devi, Karan Singh, Dalip Bhagat comrade Barkat Ram, Girdhari Lal and Bhagat and others.
